About 375 people formed an S.O.S. and a peace sign in a hayfield off Sheep Creek Road, near the University of Alaska, to speak out against the threatened war in Iraq. The sign, created by a diverse group of peace activists and church members, was 100 feet tall and 250 feet wide. The event was organized in one week by Suzanne Osborn and Elizabeth Belknap. The inspiration for this action is the heartfelt conviction that peace is breaking out all over, and it's time to spread the word!
